BECOME A CNA WITH HOME INSTEAD
If you have ever considered becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Instead wants to help you! Our CNA courses run year-round and we area always available to answer any questions you may have about the process.
Details
Home Instead now officially has our state licensing to begin our fully accredited CNA program! This is a 6-week course followed by 40 hours of clinical training. The application process is currently open to Home Instead Care Professionals only.
Prerequisites
In order to join a class, you must complete certain requirements as a CAREGiver. An applicant should:

Complete a minimum of 100 hours worked as a CAREGiver

Be in good standing
-
Have a complete and up-to-date personnel file (No expired auto insurance, driver's license, vaccinations, etc.)

Meet with office staff for a CNA school information session (Call the office for upcoming sessions or to schedule a 1-on-1 meeting)
Documentation Needed
Becoming a CNA requires certain physical abilities as well as medical and immunization records to be completed. It is important to read through the CNA Job Description to be sure that you are able to meet the minimum requirements for the position.
The following forms are REQUIRED to begin classes:

Required Immunizations document signed and dated by your Healthcare Provider and accompanying shot records MUST include:

COVID-19

Tdap (within last 10 years)

MMR (2 shots) or Titer
-
Varicella (2 shots) or Titer
-
TB Skin Test Negative (within 1 year)
-
Proof of current year Influenza Vaccine
-
Proof of Hepatitis B (3 shot series) OR completed Declination Form
-
-
Current Healthcare Physical document signed and dated by your Healthcare Provider (no older than 1 year) showing student free of all communicable diseases and no restrictions to perform skills as a CNA

Home Instead initiated Criminal History/Background Check (including fingerprints)

Complete an essay telling us why you want to become a Certified Nursing Assistant

Score at least 75% on the pre-test
SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT:
Student’s must have black or khaki scrub bottoms, comfortable closed-toe sneakers, and a watch with a second hand. Home Instead will supply a uniform scrub top.

The first step is to read through the CNA Job Description and be sure that you meet all requirements for attending the school. You can call the office to find out dates and times of upcoming info sessions. We require all applicants to attend an info session so that we can explain our expectations as well as answer any questions you may have prior to applying. You will then need to:
