Special Announcements - August 2023

Annual Reviews - Fall 2023 Process

The end of August is rapidly approaching! It has been a busy Summer as you have all coordinated plans and helped your Clients to enjoy the season!

Our Home Instead office will be conducting reviews for all Care Professionals who have been with Home Instead for 6 months or longer.

This will be a similar process to last year, with each person completing a Self Assessment via JotForm prior to their review. All reviews will be held from the end of September through October. In-person reviews will be available as well as phone reviews. A calendar will be sent out mid-September, allowing you to choose a day and time that is best for you.

A review is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your last year with Home Instead: the impact you have made on your Client(s), brave triumphs, grief and losses, and how you have grown as a Care Professional. I love to hear your goals and learn how Home Instead can support you on your journey to success. It is important to me that your stories are heard and your voices are lifted - your compassion and professionalism uplift our Clients on their darkest of days and bring a new brightness to their current chapter of life.

Please note that we will also review compliance for the following things:

  • Driver license, auto insurance, auto registration

  • For CNAs: CNA license, CPR certification, CEUs maintained

  • Person-Centered Care for Alzheimer's and Other Dementias Training (every 2 years) & Parkinson's Training (every 2 years)

  • HIPAA, Abuse & Emergencies (every 1 year, new this year)

Our Training List will be viewable on our website and I encourage you to sign up! Trainings provide an excellent way to connect with your colleagues and to refresh your skills. The classes are offered both in-person and via Zoom at a variety of times/days of the week. We do our best to accommodate everyone's needs. Communication is most important - if you are actively working to schedule a training but are having challenges, please let us know.

You may complete your Self Assessment at any time via the link below. We will re-send this link as we get closer to scheduling Performance Reviews. Please allow yourself 5-10 minutes to complete and submit the form.

A Note About CNA School Our CNA Instructor, Monique, has retired. She is greatly missed and we are so appreciative of the time, encouragement, and compassionate teaching approach here at Home Instead. Our Skills Room will remain available for CNA Skills Reviews and Assessments as well as hands-on learning and mentorship, however at this time we will not be holding a CNA class from our Warwick office. BUT! We still want to support you! We believe that empowering our Care Professionals and watching each person grow as they reach toward their goals is incredibly important, and we wish to support our Caregivers who wish to receive their CNA license. In September we will have additional information available regarding local schools and programs as well as our process for assistance (including financial assistance). If you are interested in becoming a CNA, please click on the following link to be added to our list for upcoming communication. You will be asked to complete a brief survey (2-5 minutes). https://form.jotform.com/Hisc169/InterestedinCNA

APDA Optimism Walk

As you know, we have a number of clients who live with Parkinson's Disease. The American Parkinson's Disease Association in Rhode Island offers a lot of support to those who live with PD in our state. They are a wonderful organization with a big impact. We have been sponsoring their efforts and have set up a Home Instead team for this year's Optimism Walk, scheduled for Saturday, Sep 16 at Warwick City Park. This is a very fun, family friendly fundraising event with live music, food and fun activities. Please sign up to join the walk and share it with your friends and family. Any financial support is welcome but not required.
